P.B.F.A Book Fair

Saturday 11th April 2020

venue: Agricultural Business Centre

10am - 4pm

The largest currently being organised within the Peak District National Park - will have 30 dealers attending displaying a wide variety of books, both second hand and antiquarian, with maps, prints, ephemera, and lots of unusual and interesting items on display. All dealers attending follow a PBFA Code of Practice ensuring that all items are correctly described and fairly priced. All visitors will be most welcome.

Admission is £1.00 but a free entry ticket can be found and printed off by visiting the PBFA web site - www.pbfa.org

Tour of the Peak Sportive

10th May 2020

venue: Bakewell Showground

This classic sportive, named after and on the same route as the original Tour of the Peak road race which ran from 1943 through to 2005. Follow in the wheel tracks of some of the top original British bike racers that have graced these roads. There are two routes start which from Bakewell Showground, giving you beautiful surroundings to start and finish your day.

Peak Model Railway Exhibition

Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th June 2020

venue: Agricultural Business Centre

The 2020 Peak Model Railway Exhibition again takes place at our established venue in Bakewell, the friendly town at the heart of the Peak District. The venue has step free access with a completely flat floor and is surrounded by a large pay and display car park. On site are a cafe and bar with the town centre being a short level walk away with many shops, cafes and pubs. Bakewell is well served by frequent bus services from the surrounding cities, towns and villages.

The Cow Shed Beer Festival

Friday 19th & Saturday 20th June 2020

venue: Agricultural Business Centre

After a successful 2018 launch at the Bakewell Agricultural Business Centre, the Cow Shed will this year showcase around 40 ales from within 30 miles of the popular market town, plus local cider, food stalls and live music.

International Day of Dance

For one day every year, the market town of Bakewell in Derbyshire, hosts a celebration of dance and music from around the globe. Now firmly established as the highlight of Bakewell Carnival Week, this all day event, showcases a wide variety of dance styles, at a series of venues around the town. Dance Workshops are held throughout the day in the Town Hall.

Peaks Tour Sportive

With three new routes for 2020, this event takes in the very best of the Peak District National Park and its breathtaking beauty, offering a ride to suit most cyclists abilities. Peak District Challenge

Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th July 2020

Join Team Macmillan to walk, jog or run around the Peak District with a base camp in idyllic Bakewell which will include camping facilities & extensive hospitality services. The 100km Challenge takes a tough figure of eight route through Derbyshire's finest scenery. This gem in the Heart of England is an Ultra Challenge not to be missed.

Gauge 1 North Model Railway Exhibition

18th July 2020

venue: Agricultural Business Centre

Gauge 1 North is a live steam model railway show, run by the gauge 1 Yorkshire Group. There will be live steam (meths/gas/coal fired) on one of our tracks all day. Gauge 1 is 1/32nd scale: (think Brittains & Scalextric size).

Demonstrations throughout the day of raising steam, modelling, wagon building, pattern making etc. They hope in 2020 to have three Gauge 1 tracks on show. There is usually a wide range of trade stands covering mainly Gauge 1, but many traders also cater for smaller and larger gauges.

Entrance charge is £5, with accompanied children under 16 free of charge.

Bakewell Baking Festival

We’ve had so many lovely people contact us asking for details for this years festival and it’s been truly humbling and heart warming to hear from them with their support.

Unfortunately owing to a variety of reasons we won’t be able to hold the festival in 2020.

But please bear with us as we hope to hold it again in 2021 so we’ll keep in touch with details through our website subscribers and Facebook.

Anyway to all our visitors, traders and everyone with a love for baking, fab music vintage games and a top notch custard pie fight we wish you all a fabulous albeit belated new year.
