~ A Quintessential English Christmas Market ~
Important Update. Due to Bakewell Town Council cancelling the tree switch on and to avoid disappointment for the children Gall Events, the organisers of the Christmas weekend have arranged for Elsa (Frozen 2) and her Disney characters to perform in the market place at 4.30 on the Saturday and accompanied by Santa who will also be there.
We apologise for the disappointment this may cause, the cancellation only concerns the lights switch on, the Christmas Market Weekend is unaffected and will go ahead as normal..
Bakewell Christmas market weekend which will be held on Market Street, Granby Road and Riverside Crescent welcomes visitors, friends and families to our very own quintessential Christmas Market, a free event, with some traders from our famous Monday market, traders from the town and from the Peak District. Our Christmas market this year will host around 100 stalls and gazebos.
We are proudly supporting British Legion Riders displaying their motorbikes on Bridge Street, Age UK Bakewell Day Centre, Helens Trust and Weston Park Hospital will also have charity stalls on the market.
There will be plenty of mulled wine to keep you warm, brass bands playing, D.J. will have you singing along, decorations, baubles, lights, festive gifts and a varied selection of stalls for everyone will get us in the festive mood.
