Bakewell will be celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee with some special events over the weekend.

Platinum Jubilee beacons to be lit across the county and country.
The Agricultural Business Centre
Open Friday, Saturday & Sunday 10.00 - 18.00
Projected films and images - nostalgia over the last 20 years
Trade stalls - local crafts and local enterprises including items relevant to the Jubilee.
Displays by other organisations such as The Old House Museum.
Static engines and other outdoor displays.
Farmers Feast Café will be open throughout the weekend.
Extra parking available and toilets open over the weekend.
Friday 3rd June

Opening of the celebration led by Canon Tony Kaunhoven in Bath Gardens followed by a walk to Scots Gardens for a tree planting by the Mayor of Bakewell.

Entries for Fridays Best Decorated Cake "Fit for a Queen" to be submitted at the ABC.
Children will be invited to take part in designing and making a crown and tiara in the ABC.

Judging and raffling of the cakes. All proceeds to local charities and organisations.

All Day
Rolls Royce cars display outside the ABC.

Bakewell Carnival Scarecrow Competition begins Thursday 2nd June till Bakewell Carnival weekend Sunday 3rd July. All around town people of Bakewell have created wonderful scarecrows to brighten up the town and bring cheer.. How many Queen's will you find?
Treasure Hunt Competition around Bakewell, find the locations of all the crowns. Prizes to be won. £1 entry fee, pick up a form at the ABC or download from website.
Local food shops to prepare and sell picnics for visitors to take to Rutland Recreation ground on Sunday for the picnic in the park and to take away for street parties " Collect form establishments displaying the jubilee picnic in their window"
Shops and businesses have dressed windows for the Jubilee.

Cake fit for a Queen
Start planning, buying ingredients and contemplating what kind of a masterpiece you can produce! Our judges are lined up for judging on all three days, they can't wait to see the talent in the area! Take the cake home after the competition or donate it to the raffle to raise money for local charities and organisations!
