These love locks are the first to appear in Derbyshire. Located on the bridge over river Wye.

Love locks are a symbol of love and commitment.

Love padlocks (also known as love locks and in Taiwan, wish locks) are a ancient custom believed to have originated in China by which padlocks are affixed to a fence, gate, bridge or similar public fixture by sweethearts. The key is thrown away and this symbolizes their everlasting love.

Around the world, cities from Moscow to Rome are filled with fences, bridges, and poles adorned with padlocks.
