On Friday 11th April, Central England Co-operative relaunched its supermarket on Market Street in Bakewell, Derbyshire following a major refurbishment to provide an enhanced shopping experience.

The new-look, modern store will be much improved with new features including:

...A fresh fish counter
...Food to Go counter with options like freshly baked baguettes, a salad bar, and hot food
...An in-store bakery with a wider choice of freshly-baked bread and cakes

Visitors to the brighter store will also notice new shelving units and lighting to better display fresh produce, and the use of televisions to view the latest offers.

To celebrate, colleagues gave customers a free loaf of bread and offered food tastings.

Store Manager for Bakewell Co-operative, Simon Hollis, said:

“I’m glad we can now offer the Bakewell community and its visitors a better shopping experience in our food store. We’d like to thank customers for their patience during the refurbishment and encourage them to visit us and see first-hand the exciting changes that have taken place.”

Bakewell Co-operative is open Monday to Saturday from 8am until 10pm and on Sunday from 10am until 4pm. For more information visit
