The streets of Bakewell were buzzing as the town’s food festival, on Saturday, April 28th, brought over 50 food related stalls to the streets of this historic market town.
There was a good, eclectic array of tempting produce, from speciality mushrooms to pickles, chocolates and cakes. Such was the overwhelming success of the day that many stallholders had to send out for more supplies by 2pm. Plenty of ‘taster’ tickets were sold reflecting the popularity of this event, and Bakewell’s heritage and reputation for local produce.
Visitors to the town were reported asking ‘when will the next one be?’ and new stallholders to the town have already booked in for the town’s Christmas Weekend on November 24th and 25th 2012.

The organising committee promises that next years Food Festival, on Saturday, 27th April, will be even bigger and would like to thank all concerned for making it such a huge success.

Other future events in the town include, the Party in the Park , held on the recreation ground to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee on the afternoon of 3rd June 2012  and Bakewell Carnival Day on Saturday 7th July 2012.
